The Chinese know our leaders well. In fact, they have a name for our self-hating professional class.
They call them "baizuo." The rough translation from Mandarin is "White liberal," and it is definitely not a compliment. Chinese state media describes baizou as people who, "only care about topics such as immigration, minorities, LGBT and the environment, who have no sense of real problems in the real world, who only advocate for peace and equality to satisfy their own feelings of moral superiority, and who are so obsessed with political correctness that they tolerate backward Islamic values for the sake of multiculturalism."
As Chinese state media notes, "former US [sic] President Obama was considered an advocate of baizuo ideolog So is "German Chancellor Angela Merkel and her decision to welcome more than one million third-world [sic] immigrants to Europe."
Other observations about baizuo, as reported by Chinese state media, include the fact that they "advocate inclusiveness and anti-discrimination but cannot tolerate different opinions." Baizuo's political opinions are "so shallow that they tend to maintain social equality by embracing ideologies that run against the basic concept of equality."
According to one scholar from Peking University, "baizuo are phony and hypocritical and will make the situation in the West go from bad to worse." And so on.
Talk about insight, they know our leaders well. According to Wikipedia, many Chinese internet users use the term "baizuo" to "criticize the Democratic Party's emphasis on affirmative action policies [which are] perceived as discriminating against Asians.
Whatever you think of the Chinese, they’re definitely not stupid, and they’re on to something there. Affirmative action hurts Asians. That’s true and everyone knows it.
A study of Harvard’s admissions policy, for example, found that if the school admitted students solely on merit, as we thought they did, the percentage of Asian students in a given class would double to 43%.
Harvard doesn’t want that many Asians, so it denies admissions to Asians because they’re Asian. That’s the definition of discrimination. That’s what racism is. But it’s everywhere. It’s going on in all elite schools right now, as well as in almost every major corporation. The current administration wholeheartedly supports it.
The Biden Department of Justice dropped a lawsuit against Yale for racist anti-Asian admissions practices, which were proved. They got hold of Yale’s admissions standards, which showed unequivocally that Asians were denied entry because they were Asian. But the Biden DOJ didn’t want to pursue it because they support it.
The attacks on standardized testing have the same effect. We have standardized tests for a reason. They’re created so that people who have no social connections – ambitious and talented
Immigrants, for example – could succeed in this country too. People like that have no one to write recommendation letters for them — no rich uncles who sit on the board of this or that school — but they’re smart and they work hard and we wanted a place for them in our hierarchy. (This is the land of opportunity, remember?) So we created standardized tests so they could make it too. People from nowhere could succeed on their own talents. That was the idea.
But, not anymore. Standardized tests are disappearing, thanks to lobbying by baizou - from woke Democrats. The meritocracy is racist, they claim. So is succeeding through hard work.
Who does this poisonous ideas hurt most? In Boston, as in so many places around the country, public schools have suspended an "advanced work" program due to quote "concerns about equity." The real concern is the skin color of the students in the program. Liberals were mad that the classes were too Asian. You’re seeing this everywhere. Many elite high schools are changing admissions because there are too many Asians in the classes.
We all see this happening. No one in this country mentions it. You know who else notices it? The Chinese. Why wouldn’t they? On one hand, they’re offended, because the baizuo’s so-called "equity programs" always wind up hurting people who look like them. On the other hand, the Chinese government is pleased as they watch this. Because no country that penalizes people for intelligence and hard work can last very long. The Chinese have been around long enough to know that’s true.

I hope this makes it through yet it has its risks too. What hope this would be for many. https://www.newsmax.com/health/health-ne...d/1013680/
About 7 out of 10 Alzheimer's patients wound up free of the brain plaques that are a hallmark of the disease after treatment with a potentially breakthrough experimental drug, clinical trial results show.
The drug, donanemab, also significantly slowed the patients' brain decline, according to findings published March 13 in the New England Journal of Medicine.
Donanemab dissolves permanent plaque deposits of amyloid-beta, the toxic sticky protein that accumulates in the brains of people with Alzheimer's, said study co-author Dr. Liana Apostolova, a professor of Alzheimer's disease research at Indiana University School of Medicine.
The phase 2 clinical trial involved 257 patients, about half of whom received intravenous donanemab every four weeks for up to a year and a half. The other half received a placebo.
"The drug was extremely efficient in removing amyloid from the brain, so much so that by the end of the trial, 70% of individuals who entered with high levels of amyloid were essentially in the amyloid-negative range, which is really profound," Apostolova said. "Such a percentage has not been reported today with other drugs that have successfully also removed amyloid, so that's pretty remarkable."
Alzheimer's is characterized by buildup of a second kind of protein called tau, which forms "tangles" within the brain tissue of patients. Increasingly, scientists are realizing that tau could be an active player in Alzheimer's disease. Donanemab does not target or treat the tau protein tangles that are a feature of later-stage Alzheimer's, but researchers hope by flushing the brain of amyloid beta, they might prevent tau buildup as well, Apostolova said.
In this trial, donanemab worked so well that most patients were taken off it before the trial ended, Apostolova said.
"Greater than half of the participants were able to discontinue treatment because it worked so well, to the point where there was no point in giving it anymore because they were now essentially amyloid negative," she said. "That's huge."
The drug also appeared to slow progression of Alzheimer's, based on brain exercise tests, Apostolova said.
"The drug resulted in 32% better performance in those who take it compared to those who don't," she said. "Both groups declined, but the donanemab group declined 32% less, and that was significant."
Not all brain exercise results were statistically significant, but they all tended to show a slowing of progression by 20% to 40%, Apostolova said.
The Alzheimer's Association "is encouraged by these promising new data," said Maria Carrillo, its chief science officer.
"These results are encouraging because it is the first phase 2 Alzheimer's trial to show positive results on a primary outcome measure related to memory and thinking," she said.
Carrillo added that "more work needs to be done on this experimental drug therapy," noting that larger trials are needed to confirm the benefits of donanemab.
There were some troubling side effects that will need to be considered as donanemab rolls into phase 3 clinical trials. Those trials will determine whether the drug will be approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The drug works by binding to mature amyloid plaques and dissolving them. The loose amyloid beta proteins are then removed from the brain through the blood vessels.
"When amyloid protein is removed from the brain through the blood vessels, it has to pass the blood-brain barrier, and that can cause a leakage in the barrier," Apostolova said.
About a quarter of clinical trial participants experienced swelling of the brain due to micro-hemorrhages in tiny blood vessels, Apostolova said. Six percent developed symptoms related to this adverse effect. Symptoms can include headache, changes in mental state, confusion, vomiting, nausea, and difficulty walking.
Two individuals needed to be hospitalized due to brain swelling although both cases resolved themselves, the researchers said. Those people each had symptoms of confusion, and one person reported difficulty expressing herself.
There was one death reported among people taking donanemab, although it's not clear that the drug was in any way responsible.
Still, "we would want to follow people with safety MRIs after starting a therapy like donanemab and make sure that they are safe to receive the drug and no such side effects occur," Apostolova said.
She said future studies, including phase 3 trials, should focus on who might be at higher risk for brain swelling, and whether using a reduced dosage could avoid this risk.
The drug's developer, Eli Lilly, funded this trial.

As i sit here sipping coffee with 'AllOne' nutrients mixed in, I'm reading a report from the UK called Brute Force Will Now Be Used by Governments
It states explicitly quote: Brute Force Will Now Be Used by Governments Around the World to Vaccinate and Eventually Microchip Every Individual on the Face of the Earth, Those That Oppose Will Be Dealt With Harshly…
UK, The government should bring forward emergency legislation to “stamp out” dangerous anti-vax misinformation ahead of the roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccine, Labour has said.
The opposition ministers say anti-vaccination groups with almost 100,000 users can be found within seconds of logging on to Facebook.
There will be many quote unquote Christian websites (CrossWalk.Com) that will promote vaccines and even the Micro-chip claiming it’s not the Mark of the beast, take note, they are antichrist enablers.

I'm a veteran of Meet Christians and enjoy investing in the stock market now that I'm retired. Am curious if Darrell will find this site and share some of his recent investment experiences.
I supported a Lutheran Christian Hmong mission in Hanoi Vietnam with my Trump Stipend last year It's the only legal Christian mission in Communist Vietnam--legal because the Hmongs have been Lutherans for many years and they are allowed to continue worshipping in their native faith.
My goal in the stock market is to double my IRA this year if the market keeps going up, and to donate at least $1000 a year for the rest of my life to this mission. It is a ministry of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Church (WELS).
I have an IRA and a brokerage account and use the brokerage account to donate up to $500 to religious organizaitons that I specify. Since it's a charitable donation, taxes are not withheld on the donation.
Thus, I try to increase my brokerage account amount by stock investments and donate the profits to charity. I invest in stocks with significant dividends--a couple I have right now are WES (Western Midstream Partners--a natural gas company in the northwest US--dividend of about 6.2%) and SHLX (Shell Midstream Partners--supplier of Shell gas in the U.S. from Gulf of Mexico--dividend is currently 14.44%/year). My goal is to invest my entire portfolio eventually in SHLX for the dividend and capital gain revenue.
This year I plan to donote about $1000 to my WELS church as part of my normal giving. The nice thing about donating from a brokerage account is the money I donate after profit is distributed to the church entirely, with both the contribution AND the tax that would be withheld--but isn't--as well. So the church receives money the government allows me to give them as a charitable contribution.
Anyone else in the stock market this year?

Heart warming story
https://www.theepochtimes.com/girl-born-...42159.html
When Lorraine was five months pregnant with Eleanor, the couple learned their baby girl was missing two-thirds of her brain matter. “We asked the doctors if there was any chance her brain could grow more but were told confidently that the ‘die was already cast,’” Lorraine told The Epoch Times via email.
Doctors recommended an abortion.
“They were so sure she would die that they had us set up with a special grieving program at the hospital,” Lorraine recalled. “They even recorded her heartbeat in utero for us, and put it in a teddy bear for us to keep as a memento!”
Describing the prospect of abortion as “unthinkable,” Lorraine and Brian declined.
While an ultrasound confirmed that Eleanor’s vital organs were functioning normally, her brain malformation was severe. At 33 weeks, a fetal MRI added new insight: She also had no eyeballs or optic nerves. Doctors even gave Eleanor a 1 percent chance of being born alive.
“We already loved her and had been praying for great things for her life,” said Lorraine. “We felt so completely hopeless.” However, she and her husband, both Christians, found strength in prayer.
Yet by the time she was 4 months old, Eleanor had already overcome one major prognosis: Her brain matter had grown substantially, a miracle for which, said her mother, there is no medical explanation.
Today, Eleanor is 2 1/2 years old and is “doing great.” Lorraine and Brian maintain a website, Faith For Eleanor, to share updates on their daughter’s remarkable progress.
“They expected her to have seizures because of her brain abnormalities, but she’s never had one,” Lorraine told The Epoch Times. “She is super happy and joyful. She loves playing with her siblings, listening to music, and swimming in the pool with her floatie.”
