anxiety
a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome.
"he felt a surge of anxiety"
Matt 14
[27] But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
[28] And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
[29] And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
[30] But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
[31] And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
This is an extreme case of sudden anxiety or total fear, but it shows the same cause as what happens in cases where people are anxious in their lives.
Peter was probably thrilled that he was walking on the water and he was able because Jesus told him to do it and he had his eyes on Jesus.
We like Peter walk in victory when we have our minds on God, basking in the glory if His majesty.
But we also like Peter are easily distracted from Jesus, looking at the circumstances of our surroundings and we start taking our minds and eyes off of Jesus.
We as what happened to Peter start to sink in the mire of despair as Peter also sank when our minds are off of God.
Remember, life is 10% circumstances and 90% the way we view them.
How to walk in victory in God and Jesus, read God’s word, you’re taking the word into you heart, and that word is Jesus.
Pray and fellowship with God, in the presence of His glory and as Moses returned from the mount of God with the glory of God on his face and I believe in his heart also, that is the blessing of being in His presence.
Talking with others about God, lifting up the name of Jesus and He’ll be right there lifting up you and the other people you’re fellowshipping with. As Jesus said, “where 2 or more are gather together in my name there am I in the midst”.
Anxiety comes when our minds are away from God and tied up in the things of this world.
